EAFinancials Upcoming EA Release Dates 2010 11

Electronic Arts released it’s Third Quarter Fiscal Year Results

In the statement EA included a Key Titles List for 2010 through 2011.  Included in the list were Spore, A New Sims Title, Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2? , A new Need For Speed, Sims on Console, NBA Jam, Medal of Honor, and Skate 3, among many others.  Although most of the titles we have already known about, the inclusion of a second Need for Speed title is a new development.  Action Title TBA is also an unknown variable, but one would assume it will be action packed. It looks like a pretty solid lineup going forward, but the stock market did not take kindly to EA after the earnings were released.  While the company beat their target estimates, they issued guidance going forward that was lower than expected.

  • Miyamoto Watch! 0 CommentsPosted by Burn360 staff on under console news, wii # # # #

    shigeru miyamoto stencil Miyamoto Watch!

This weekend Shigeru Miyamoto announced that Nintendo is developing new hardware.  In addition to the new Wii Zelda game, Nintendo is working on a motion based game or game(s) that use Wii Motion Plus technology.  These details were announced vaguely on Saturday at the 13th Annual Japan Media Arts Festival, where Miyamoto was awarded for Special Achievements.  If you would like a detailed report of the goings on at this event, 4gamer has all the details.   You’re gonna need to translate that, so AndriaSang has a less detailed but (in English) informative piece about what else was said and done this weekend.

  • Peter Molyneux is the Billy Mays of Video Games 1 CommentsPosted by Al Hess on under originals # # # # # #

alg mays3 Peter Molyneux is the Billy Mays of Video Games

Sure Peter Molyneux is a great game developer, but is he an even better pitch man?  Lionhead Studios and Peter Molyneux will be demonstrating Fable III at Microsoft’s X10 event later this week.  Unsurprisingly, Molyneux has made comments that will be putting his next title, Fable III, at the center of the stage.

” There’s some very, very big things happening in Fable III, and it’s really going to upset people. I’m really scared when I go out and tell people what it is [that] they’re going to get super pissed off. They really are.”

Whether or not the game actually does anything groundbreaking is yet to be seen.  I guess we’ll find out what this “big suprise” is but it’s more than likely cleverly worded bullshit that is only implemented with the sole purpose of gimmickry and hype.  After being underwhelmed by Fable, and downright dissapointed by Fable II, we’re gonna go ahead an assume that Fable III will be 2 parts hype and 1 part gameplay, when it should definitely be the other way around.  Though you have to give him credit, no one gets more accolades for subpar gaming experiences than Molyneux.  The games sell on pure hype and speculation and they sell well.

Peter Molyneux here with another FAANNN-tastic product…

Al Hess is a on again off again editorial commentator, his views may not reflect those of Burn360.  His views may not reflect reality also.

  • Care Package Glitch Fixed And More on the Way 0 CommentsPosted by Burn360 staff on under game news, pc, ps3, xbox 360 # # # # #

RobertBowling Care Package Glitch Fixed And More on the Way

Infinity Ward  updated the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 on 1.19.10, to  include the following fixes:  With PS3 patching last Friday, and Xbox 360 patch in testing.

    - Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.

    - Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
    - Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
    - Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’.
    - Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency. (PC-ONLY)
    - Fixes to prevent various texture hacks (PC-ONLY)

    - Fix to prevent various XP hacks, including the prevention of obtaining negative XP.

These fixes, excluding the ones  labeled as (PC-ONLY), are currently in test for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions as well. Before you ask why there is a delay from PC to consoles, it’s because we can update IW-NET directly and therefore the fastest. The console versions require additional testing through their respective manufacturers.

  • Bayonetta Breaks One Million Units Sold 1 CommentsPosted by Burn360 staff on February 5, 2010 under game news, ps3, xbox 360 # # #

sdf62 Bayonetta Breaks One Million Units Sold

Apparently Platinum Games and Sega have found a nice little combo concerning designing games: Naked Ladies and Solid Gameplay.  Sega’s latest financial report showed that Bayonetta sold 1.1 million units worldwide across all platforms.  I’m glad this sold well, it’s a solid game, that at least needs some consideration for a sequel.  Bayonetta was one of the most original and refreshing games in quite a while.  Read our review here
