I lined up for MW2’s midnight release and played everyday, still crusing towards Lv70, it is a great game, but to be Game of The Year, I think it lacks the sustance and depth to be THE game. I would pick Uncharted 2 to be Game of The Year because it has a better story, voice acting, gameplay, puzzle solving and an enjoyable online as well. MW2 is JUST for the online multiplayer mode, the single story mode is nothing to write home about, for that, MW2 is a little bit “thin”, but since awards have always been “what the majority likes” not really “what is the best”, you can have more cheap taste people out there, so the real good stuff will never be heard of.

I think that Uncharted 2 is GOTY, but even if it wasn’t, Modern Warfare 2 as game of the year? That is a big joke, there are MANY games way better than MW2.

im okay with mw2 winning goty eventhough i feel uncharted 2 deserved it, but i am puzzled by mw2 getting best original score, but all in all im not surprised by the results eventhough i feel UN 2 deserved more and i felt ac2 was a notable absence

Clearly I’m not biased towards one console or the other, I paid for both and I play their respected games as often as I can. The IGAs we’re selected via a vote by the Machinima staff, not made by one person. Everyone who voted was a gamer and the majority picked the game that they loved the most, that was accessible on the most platforms and that had the best replay value.

I find it interesting that everyone validates a lame award show like the VGAs when its clearly not produced by anyone who has ever touched a controller in their lifetime. Megan Fox winning an award for her half-assed VO session for the Transformers game? It’s like they make up awards just so they can entice B-list celebrities to host the following year. It’s not their fault, they just need to pay the bills but obviously their selection is far more biased then ours could ever be.

Uncharted was a great game I agree, IMO its the number one reason to buy a PS3 and get online. Its just funny how quickly people turn when their title of choice is not selected by a random group of strangers to validate their personal opinion. You can call MW2 broken all you want, the truth is most people are still playing it, putting up with glitch after glitch, every cheap ass double shotgun a-hole or even random unlimited ammo match. The fact that a large group of people are willing to put up with those issues clearly shows that the game isn’t going away anytime soon.

I’m sorry if you feel like I, the host of a sucky show you watch on a twice basis, who works for a small website and doesn’t share your opinion, has wronged you in some way. But for the love your genetic pool, try to use that gray mass in your head before calling out someone you think would never contact you through a random website.

I heard that MW2 won so many awards because the host of the show is biased towards MW2 which is unfair!
