This weekend the Forza leaderboard exploded with activity. With Forza 3 having been released worldwide, and North America launching Monday night, those that have had access to the game are starting to complain about the lack of ability to host public custom servers in Forza Motorsport 3.  Taking a more Halo-style approach to match-making as a whole,  As of right now, those old nascar style simulation runs at the oval you used to have just might not be in cards.  Or will they?

Che “No Game Info” Chou, A Turn 10 Community manager at forzamotorsport.net had this to say.

“With Forza 3, we decided to hit the reset button and go with a more inclusive multiplayer system of matchmaking and parties. The playlists that you see right now are obviously going to evolve, and fairly quickly at that. Keep in mind the game is just launching in Europe officially TODAY, and it’s coming out in the U.S. next Tuesday. The current playlist on the servers is just there as a warm up to the things to come. Yes, I know not every race class is represented, and not every race mode and its variation is there, but there’s a reason for this. Before the game has a chance to hit critical mass, we don’t want to splinter off the community into too many multiplayer playlists. If you want to create a custom game, then you can do so with our massive list of rules. After that, you can either find folks you meet in matchmaking and ask them to join your room (invite them from the players you just met list) or go to our new Car Meets forum (http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/124/ShowForum.aspx) and post that you’re starting a game and the time, and get like-minded folks to join your room. In the near future, I want to create an official hardcore FM.net community playlist entry that will put the majority of you into a game you want to play — and we can keep it flexible and agile, so that it changes once every couple days. I know change can make folks uncomfortable so this reaction is not unexpected, but we do feel strongly about including more Forza fans into the multiplayer fold this time around. Hope you guys understand. Thanks.”

While, I am not too keen on going to the forza motorsport forum and posting a race time so people can or cannot join me, I do see where they are coming from, in this strategy.  As long as the future has got a wide variety of options I think most people will end up more than happy with their Forza experience. Now that these promises have been made publicly, hopefully Turn10 doesn’t alienate these gamers who appear to be turning up in large numbers and threatening petition.

Forza 3 sadly is a shady shell oof a game , It is by far NOT a simulation anymore . It lacks everything forza 1 and 2 had . this fm3 feels more like a arcade rubbish than anything else . The online forza 2 had was da bomb with that missing from forza 3 the games life span is going to be very short lived . I for 1 a True HARDCORE fm1 & 2 fan ahve already sold the game I waited so long for . The game is depressing garbage it is not worth the price or the time to bother with !. Turn10 has ripped their fanbase off , I will not purchase another forza , Against everything I believed in grand turismo 5 will eat forza alive hands down and it’s not even out yet . I hate sony in every way but this has to be true forza has lost it’s simulation and has joined the aracdish crapola setting on the junk heap with need for speed .
